行政院長毛治國9日做東請立委吃飯，據了解，立法院長王金平在席間提及，根據他掌握的民調，國民黨在2016年的新國會依然可以維持過半，掌握多數。
毛治國依例在開議之初宴請朝野立委，但在野黨立委婉拒出席。9日為第一場餐敘，毛治國率領行政官員，和立委分組餐敘，促進感情。立法院長王金平和副院長洪秀柱也受邀出席。
根據不具名立委轉述，席間氣氛熱絡，行政立法互動頻頻，王金平透露，他日前接見訪台的前美國副國務卿阿米塔吉，阿米塔吉關切台灣2016選舉，他告訴阿米塔吉，根據他掌握的訊息，國民黨在新國會依然可以過半。王金平也告訴在場立委，根據他掌握的民調數據，大家的選情都算樂觀。
至於總統選舉，民進黨人選為民進黨主席蔡英文，國民黨人選尚未浮出檯面。阿米塔吉也詢問王金平的看法，王金平告訴阿米塔吉，要2個月後狀況才會明朗。
